All patients may request to consult with any of our practitioners. We endeavour to meet any such requests to the best of our ability. We will arrange a telephone call back by the requested practitioner, and they will assess your needs and may invite you for an appointment if necessary. We must stress the importance of keeping appointments, please let us know as soon as you can if you are unable to attend your appointment. 958 appointments were lost last year because patients did not attend. These appointments could have been offered to someone else.
This practice operates a ‘call back’ appointment system.
Urgent problems can be dealt with at short notice, and emergency appointments are available every morning and afternoon.
Delays do occur and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please be patient - you may require extra time yourself one day.
Due to circumstances beyond our control there will be no 'Minor Illness' clinics until further notice.
Telephone advice from a doctor or nurse may be obtained by calling between 8.30am and 5.30pm. If the appropriate doctor or nurse is not available to speak to you immediately, they will call you back as soon as possible.
The Phlebotomist is available to take blood between the hours of 8.30am and 12.00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
Our Midwife holds clinics on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. At the East Children's Centre –Durham Road To contact the midwife telephone 894028.
If possible please try to telephone reception before 11am if you require a home visit.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.
House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
The practice and surgery rooms are freely accessible to all disabled patients, either by wheelchair or motorised buggies. There is one disabled car parking space.
